How experienced are you with vehicle electrics?
This helps us tailor the experience. You can always change your mind later.
What are you building a system for?
Select your vehicle or application type. This sets sensible defaults for the rest of the wizard.
Not sure? Campervan is the most common choice. You can always go back and change it.
Is this a new build or an existing vehicle?
Choose "Existing Vehicle" if you already have a 12V or 24V leisure system and want to upgrade or extend it.
System Voltage
Pre-selected based on your vehicle type. Higher voltages are more efficient for larger systems (lower current = thinner cables).
12V is most common for campervans. 24V halves the current for the same power, meaning thinner cables and less voltage drop over long runs.
Your Appliances
Tick the appliances you use and adjust the wattage and hours per day. This calculates your daily energy budget.
You can find the wattage on the appliance label or in its product listing. If in doubt, the defaults are reasonable starting points.
| Appliance | Watts | Hrs/Day | Qty | Daily Wh | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total Daily Consumption | 0 Wh | |||||
| Peak Simultaneous Load | 0 W | |||||
Solar Configuration
We recommend a solar array based on your daily consumption and UK location. You can adjust the target wattage.
PSH (Peak Sun Hours) = equivalent full-sun hours per day at your location. UK averages 2.3-3.1 kWh/m²/day depending on region and season.
Battery Bank & Usage
Tell us how you'll use your system so we can accurately size your battery bank.
DoD (Depth of Discharge) = how much battery you can safely use. Lithium: 80-90%, AGM: 50%, Gel: 50%. Higher DoD means fewer batteries needed.
How will you use your system?
Additional Options
These options determine which additional components are included in your system.
Shore power and alternator charging are the most common options. Monitoring via Victron's VRM portal lets you check your system from your phone.
