About the Inverter Pre-charge Cable
The Victron Pre-Charge Cable allows internal capacitors of an inverter, inverter/charger, or MPPT charge controller to be pre-charged via the DC terminals before connecting the battery. Without pre-charging, high inrush currents can cause arcing at the connection point and stress both capacitors and battery terminals. The cable uses a built-in resistor to limit inrush current, and heavy-duty insulated crocodile clips make connection simple and safe. Pre-charge time for a MultiPlus-II 48/5000 is less than one second. Larger systems take longer; for systems with three or more Multi/Quattro units, multiple pre-charge cables can be used in parallel. Ideal for caravan solar systems, marine battery banks, and off-grid installations.
